Problem: Missing teeth or loose dentures

Dentures Grimsby ON

Have you lost one or more teeth due to an accident, poor oral health or disease, and you are looking for teeth replacement options? Whether you are looking for a permanent or temporary solution, dentures might be the solution you have been looking for.

What are the types of dentures?

Dentures are custom-made prosthetic devices that replace missing teeth and the surrounding gum tissue. We offer various dentures in our Grimsby office, including conventional and implant-supported dentures.

Partial dentures are made of one or more false teeth attached to either a clasp that rests on nearby natural teeth or a gum-coloured synthetic base. This denture type is commonly used when a bridge or a dental implant cannot replace the gap formed by missing teeth. A partial denture will improve your speech, ability to chew, but most importantly, protect the remaining teeth from shifting.

Complete dentures replace all your natural teeth on either one or both arches and are held in place by suction, sometimes supported by an oral adhesive. Composed of artificial teeth attached to a dental base, they restore natural teeth’ appearance, the ability to eat and improve pronunciation. Just like partial, complete dentures are easily removed and require regular maintenance.

Implant-supported dentures, as the name indicates, are complete dentures supported by dental implants . The implant is a permanent fixture inserted into the jawbone, and attached to denture via locator, offers better stability and stops the process of bone loss, a natural occurrence once teeth are extracted. The denture can be easily detached from implants for cleaning and maintenance.

If you are still unsure if dentures are right for you or don’t know which type best suits your needs, contact our office in Grimsby and schedule a consultation .
